We train hundreds of divers every year right hear in New York City (you can truly do it all here!). Our pool is located conveniently on the lower east side, so you can train with comfort and ease. Our instructors are all highly experienced and will make sure you are safe and excited before sending you off to the ocean. There’s nothing we love more than giving you a lifelong passion for the ocean.

Choose a pool session here to schedule. Please note that our pool classes start at 7 pm and are on Fridays and Sundays (you must attend both sessions). They last about 3 hours, but we vary class length depending on how fast we are moving (and how much fun everyone’s having!)

The next step is to schedule an academic review session here in the store. Select a 90 minute slot from the calendar and come on in! We will chat with you about the major concepts of SCUBA, fit you for gear, and answer any questions about your eLearning you may have had. Make sure you have completed your eLearning before this session and bring your final exam with you.

This session must be completed at least 24 hours before your pool session, but the earlier the better.

To complete your certification, you need 4 Open Water dives. Luckily, we make this incredibly easy at our Fort Lauderdale location (3000 E Commercial Blvd)! We do the 4 dives over two mornings — Saturday and Sunday — with the first day on the beach and the second day on the boat. If you would like to dive on any other days of the week, contact your home shop to schedule private lessons (+$100 per day). You can schedule your sessions on this page.

(Note: we recommend scheduling the Day 2: Boat Dives first, since those are more likely to fill up. Select “Open Water Student Referral”  as a base option since the boat ticket is part of your package. Once you’ve confirmed that weekend has availability for the boat, you can schedule your Day 1: Beach Dives for Saturday)

If you choose to do your certification without us, we are happy to write you a referral to another shop. If you choose to come on a dive trip with us, there is no extra cost for your open water dives!

Diving Rule: After diving, you must wait 24 hours to fly. This means your earliest flight home after the boat dives should be Monday afternoon. That gives you one extra night to take in all FTL has to offer!
